#940 A shiny car

I always like to see, or better yet, drive in a shiny car. It is hard though with all the road grime or pollen or dessert dust or leaves or whatever it is you have it your area. For me we have the sticky pollen that gets dropped from the tree and lands on the car followed by dust. Local landscapers seem to love these trees as they are all over the place soiling up people’s cars.

In the James Bond Lifestyle Seminar, Paul Kyriazi wrote the ‘James Bond Lifestyle’s 21 Rules’ which you can read here. Rule #19 is: My car is clean, filled up and ready to go.

The logic behind that is you never know when you could get called upon to go do something special. You don’t want to waste time having to get gas or worrying if you have enough gas to get there. Or maybe you get to pick someone special up or take them somewhere. You don’t want it looking like you are living in your car do you?

But I think it is also a certain sense of pride. If you went to all the effort and expended so much energy to purchase or lease your car then why not keep it clean?

I used to get my car semi-detailed every couple of weeks. They would polish everything up inside and out and leave an air freshener that smelled like baby powder. But my favorite part of having a shiny car is when the sun hits it just right and shines off of the car paint and you get that sort of sun spot.

That always makes me smile.

  1. You’re right, Troy. How many times in the past has a friend said, ‘Let’s take my car.’ and then he has tons of junk on his front seat that he needs to move to the back seat and then the seat is dusty? Good post.

    • Completely right. Or like you said in your book, The Complete James Bond Lifestle Seminar, you do not want to pick up your date (Bond Girl) and then have to stop to fill the car with gas then get back in the car she has been impatiently waiting in with your hands or clothes smelling like gas fumes.

  2. I should really take a cue from this post and get my car cleaned! Ha. (Although, I do believe that the boyfriend took my car in today to get it washed. Crossing my fingers on that one.)

I think if I had a brand-spanking new car, I would feel more inclined to keep it clean. My car is a tan color so it rarely ever looks dirty (except for the windows). But, what I should really try to do is at least keep the inside of it clean.

    Thanks!

  3. A shiny car is enough to make anyone smile! I like to have mine detailed inside and out, they even do an under hood thing with a steam cleaner. I have found that the best place to have them detailed is at the dealership. Those guys act like the car is going up for sale and they do a very good job!

  4. Few things bother me as much as a messy, dirty car! 100% agreed about how great it is when the sun reflects off of a squeaky clean shiny car.

  5. However you do it the point is the same. Keep it clean, gassed up and ready to go. You never know when you may get called to an exciting event and hopefully your ride is ready.

  6. Selling your car or truck available to be purchased in an automobile classifieds site is an extraordinary approach to achieve huge amounts of potential purchasers. In any case, developing an extraordinary promotion is not any problem. To produce a great deal of enthusiasm for your vehicle, you must know how to make the ideal internet posting. The important steps are laid out in five articles titled Book Your Automobile classified ads Online . The initial phase in setting an extraordinary promotion is taking photos of the auto or truck that is available to be purchased. You would prefer only not to take any photo and post it on the web. You need to post the best picture you potentially can. As it would turn out, the potential purchasers that view your internet posting need to see a photo that lets them know something more than simply the shading of the vehicle. A decent picture can pass on the general state of the body, paint, inside, and that is only the tip of the iceberg.

  7. I love my car neat always. Presently in my area there is too much dust but I always try my best to keep it clean cause I cant afford to drive a dirty car around. Cleanliness they say is next to godliness.

  9. Hey Troy
I am very happy to see your post again.. aahhaaa…Really fantastic Article. Well, it is necessary to keep our car clean as we use car to travel. I always clean my car myself. On Sunday I wash my car with shampoo. But in front of dust we couldn’t do anything.

We should take care of internal accessories of the car like seat, mirror etc.

    Thanks for the posting Troy
    well done.. Keep it up..

    • Thanks John698. I appreciate you stopping by. For us here in Las Vegas we have very strict laws regarding water. There are big fines if you wash the car using the hose. I usually go to a place that uses recycled water they filter through a softner.

    • Do you live in a desert like me? There is always dust in the air. Plus pollen. And believe it or not, it rains year round although only for a few minutes sometimes but when there is aways at least a light coating of dust and then the light rain comes…. UGH!
Thanks for stopping b and for your comment though now you have me curious. What do you mean by “I cant afford to drive a dirty car around.”? Are you a chauffer or UBER or LYFT driver or something? Car dealer?

  11. If you are saying the car in your picture is shiny. Haha, I agree to this opinion, Troy. It is both shiny and unique with its red. I like it.

    • Point is not exactly shining but rather just the process of having a clean car, free of dirt and trash and ready to go at a moments notice. That is really what makes me smile.

  12. I love my car to be shiny but bodyshop repairs and resprays are expensive… My BMW had suffered major scratches due to someone swinging their door too far out when parking next to me. I decided to invest in some good car door guards protector as I don;t want this to happen ever again

  13. You see these great cars that people have paid $70k for, yet they are covered in dirt. Not just one days, but weeks of dirt.
    What’s the point?
Couple of dollars to get car cleaned or maybe even do it yourself!

  14. Hey Troy,
Very interesting to read and I really ejoyed reading your post. Having a shiny car is always a fun. I always want to have one shiny car when I was with my parents but now I like to ride Bikes more than a car. Anyway it was worth reading it.

  15. I have a Maserati Quattroporte in Nero Black. Basically jet black with large flecks of colour. When it is polished it looks sensational. Trouble is 30 seconds after you finish polishing it, it looks dirty again. Its more of a lifetime commitment to keep it clean, rather than an occasional pleasure.
